The aim of the home is to provide a family environment that is patterned on
mainstream life as much as possible. The self esteem and independence which
is achieved when one leaves one’s family home corresponds with taking
responsibility for one’s self, life and work.
Routines in the house provide reassurance and security without requiring the same
overall conformity. The main aim of the larger house is to meet the needs of the
group collectively whilst also meeting the differing individual needs of the people
who live here.
